Thomas Tuchel Expresses Disappointment Over Wembley Crowd Support Following Dominant Win Over Wales.

The England head coach expressed his disappointment that the England team did not enjoy more support from the home crowd during their impressive triumph over Wales on Thursday night.

The manager was pleased to see his team continue their winning momentum, with strikes from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the opening quarter effectively ending the game. However, he was displeased with the mood at the iconic venue.

“With limited training days to get ready against a well-trained team and we did very well,” the coach commented. “We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We missed the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent. We didn’t get support back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

“What more can you give in 20 minutes? We didn’t let them escape. If you hear just the Welsh supporters for half an hour, it’s regrettable because the squad deserved better encouragement today.”

“I maintain this statement. There’s nothing more than being three goals up in a derby. I would have wished for a greater backing in periods where it becomes tough.”

“After halftime, to cheer us on, there was a bit too much support for Wales. It might have aided us to regain energy, but it is what it is and so be it.”

Squad Decisions Justified by Display

Away from potentially starting a fight with supporters, the manager also caused a stir by excluding Bellingham and Foden from his team selection. However the move was validated by Rogers excelling in the attacking midfield role and netting his first international goal.

“He plays his game,” Tuchel noted. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is competing for his place.”

Wales Manager Hopes for Lessons from Loss

Craig Bellamy hopes that his team, who face Belgium in a key World Cup qualifier on Monday, improve after their poor first-half display.

“That’s the reason I wanted this match,” the manager commented. “I wanted to assess our standing. Where do we want to go? What is our identity? Today fills me with inspiration.”

Fitness Worry for Striker

Ollie Watkins was substituted at half-time after hitting a goalpost and will be a doubt when the national team face Latvia in the Latvian capital in a qualifier on Tuesday.
