Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Frequented Southern California Beach
A helicopter hovering near a crowded coastal coastline unexpectedly began spiraling wildly, finally losing altitude and smashing into a line of palm fronds as spectators looked on.
Videos shared on social media depict the helicopter starting to spin near the shoreline then falling in the direction of the edge of the shore, where it ends up lodged amidst palms and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department stated five persons were rushed to the hospital involving a pair who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on Saturday.
Three people on the road were harmed. Specifics on their condition were not yet released.
The reason for the accident was not yet disclosed.
